What is SUPR?
The Illinois Department of the Human Services created the Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery to meet the responsibilities of the Substance Use Disorder (SUD). For more information, please go to IDHS Page.
IDHS SUPR started and funded the program that support the needs of the deaf and hard of hearing individuals at JCCD Office. The SUPR at JCCD assign the licensed ASL interpreters to the SUD licensed treatment center.
Services Provided
- Assign the ASL Interpreters
- Ensure the ASL Interpreters are licensed
- Schedule the appointment for deaf and hard of hearing client and ASL interpreter.
- Protect the deaf and hard of hearing individual's rights
- Educate the Treatment and Recovery Center about ADA
- Assume the Financial Responsibilities of hiring and assigning the Interpreters
